GUIDED TOURS: A GLIMPSE INTO REIN

The Rein mon­ks open the monas­tery doors to wor­ship­pers and visi­tors, brin­ging near­ly 900 years of histo­ry to life. The his­to­ric monas­tery grounds are always free­ly acces­si­ble, and the church is open during the day. Howe­ver, a tour of the monas­tery pre­mi­ses and the exhi­bi­ti­on is only pos­si­ble as part of a gui­ded tour.
With regu­lar­ly chan­ging focus, many vol­un­teer monas­tery gui­des, under the mot­to “A Glim­pse into Rein”, allow a look behind monas­tery walls and thus also into the histo­ry of Sty­ria: The tomb of the first sove­reign of Sty­ria and the foun­der of Rein, Mar­gra­ve Leo­pold I, is an essen­ti­al part of our tours.

ARE WELCOME

Groups of 15 or more peo­p­le have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to visit Stift Rein all year round by indi­vi­du­al appoint­ment. Tours are pos­si­ble bet­ween 9 AM and 5 PM and last appro­xi­m­ate­ly 90 minu­tes. We recom­mend plan­ning a two-hour stay.

The pre­mi­ses are gene­ral­ly bar­ri­er-free. Plea­se regis­ter in advan­ce for peo­p­le with wal­king disa­bi­li­ties and wheel­chair users.

Spe­cial Gui­ded Tours

Every year, the monas­tery gui­des of Rein offer spe­cial tours. Cer­tain topics are exami­ned very clo­se­ly. From his­to­ri­cal pain­ting and archi­tec­tu­re to the water sup­p­ly in the 12th cen­tu­ry and the poli­ti­cal acti­vi­ties of the abbots in the Midd­le Ages, ever­y­thing is included! A spe­cial tour is also offe­red for curious child­ren. Take the oppor­tu­ni­ty and get to know Stift Rein even bet­ter!
Spe­cial tours are excluded from the GenussCard and Stei­er­mark Card.
