Rein Abbey is located north of Graz, the capital of Styria. Not far from the world’s oldest Cistercian monastery, you can experience history and nature in various ways: Graz is Austria’s second-largest city and combines modernity with historical charm, and in Stübing, you can see historical rural architecture from all over Austria at the open-air museum. Further to the west is the Piber Lipizzaner Stud Farm. Rein is situated in the heart of the Graz Adventure Region.

REIN BAREFOOT PATH
The Rein Barefoot Path invites you to a completely “pure” nature experience with a free foot massage and “Kneipp cure.” You can discover how meadows, stones, the streambed, and the mud within feel along approximately 600 meters at the end of the Prälatenweg, behind the sports field of BG Rein.
AUSTRIAN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM STÜBING
Visitors can gain an overview of historical rural buildings and traditional crafts from all over Austria during a walk.
LURGROTTE PEGGAU & SEMRIACH
The Lurgrotte is Austria’s largest active water cave. From Peggau or Semriach, you can explore the “underworld” with its bizarre rock formations.
LIPIZZANER STUD FARM PIBER
Here you can immerse yourself in the world of the unique “white horses.” In Piber in Western Styria, the Lipizzaners spend their first years before the best of them move to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
