DIVINE SERVICE

“Nothing is to be preferred to the Divine Office” (RB 46:3). With this guiding principle, Saint Benedict established a clear program for monastic life. The solemn canonical hours of the Church are particularly entrusted to the monks and recommended for their care, as is already evident in the extent of the chapters in the Holy Rule. Benedict dedicates 14 chapters to the order of prayer in the monastery.

LISTEN AND PARTICIPATE IN THE PRAYERS OF THE MONKS

In accordance with the legacy of Saint Benedict, the monks of Stift Rein strive to combine the choral prayer with pastoral activities in a good symbiosis and thus work for the glorification of God.
The liturgy is held in German using the book of hours. Parts of Vespers, as well as all Marian antiphons and Compline on Saturday and Sunday, are in Latin.
We cordially invite you to join the monks in prayer in silence. The choir times are public and the brothers are happy to be available for confession and discussion at any time.
