What did books look like in the Middle Ages? Who wrote them and with what? Before the invention of the printing press, book production was a very laborious undertaking. A tour through the Rein Abbey Library provides insight into the fascinating world of medieval books: The work of scribes and illuminators is presented, as are writing instruments, inks, and dyes for the magnificent book illuminations.
