This year’s Nativity Scene Exhibition at Stift Rein unfolds a colourful panorama of Christmas traditions. Around 20 artfully crafted nativity scenes from all over the world bring the Christmas story to life in numerous facets. The exhibits come from countries such as Japan, Colombia, Peru and Africa. They are again largely provided by Dr. Bernd Mayer, who has collected more than 600 nativity scenes at his Birglhof in Passail. In addition, we can look forward to two nativity scenes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia: a depiction of the historic Grado and a model of the Lagoon Nativity Scene, which stood on St. Peter’s Square in Rome last Advent. In 2028, the imposing original nativity scene will then also be on display in all its glory at Stift Rein.
The Nativity Scene Exhibition is open until January 6 on Advent weekends and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, we appreciate your voluntary support.
