Opening: Franz Weber

FRANZ WEBER, born in Kapfenberg in 1954, grew up in Thörl and Aflenz.

After graduating from the HTL in Leoben, Franz Weber worked as a computer scientist and vocational school teacher in Kapfenberg until his retirement. He then worked as a software developer in Graz and, in parallel, as a freelance business consultant.

He already engaged intensively with painting during his school days and experimented with cubist elements. During his professional career, painting receded into the background at times, but regained importance with the onset of retirement.

His works are characterized by experimenting with acrylic paints and their mixtures. Objects and elements in the pictorial, free space serve as pictorial means. This resulted in an independent, reduced minimalism that incorporates cubist and expressionist influences. The visual language invites you to freely interpret objects and elements in the picture.

The opening will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Cellarium.
