Despite the limited texts in the Gospels, the events surrounding the Incarnation of the Redeemer are a central theme in Christian art.
This year’s lecture is dedicated to the Three Wise Men. The star that led the kings to Bethlehem, the lavish splendor of the royal robes, and the precious gifts for the divine Child have always fascinated and found admiration among people of all centuries. The range of the resulting abundance of images spans from the 3rd to the 18th century.
Allow this fascination to work its magic on you through the contemplation of selected, famous, and artistically outstanding works from all art epochs on this theme.
The lecture will be given by Dr. Elisabeth Brenner.
Tickets are available in the monastery shop. No registration required.
Meeting point: 2 PM in front of the monastery shop
