Special Guided Tour: The Scriptorium of the Rein Monks

What did books look like in the Middle Ages? Who wrote them and with what? Before the invention of the printing press, book production was a very laborious undertaking. A tour through the Rein Abbey Library provides insight into the fascinating world of medieval books: The work of scribes and illuminators is presented, as are writing instruments, inks, and dyes for the magnificent book illuminations.

Tickets are available in the monastery shop. No registration required.
