It is a good tradition that Rein Abbey invites visitors to view Nativity scenes during Advent. Also this year, there are many Nativity scenes from all over the world to admire. They are provided by Dr. Bernd Mayer, one of the largest Nativity scene collectors in Styria. He has more than 600 Nativity scenes at his Birglhof in Passail, which can also be visited throughout the year.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to bring the announced Nativity scenes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to Rein. Until shortly before the opening, all those involved were extremely dedicated, but ultimately it failed due to logistics. We are all the more looking forward to 2028, when the original Nativity scene from Grade will be on display in Rein.
The Nativity scene exhibition is open until January 6 on weekends and public holidays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free; we appreciate your voluntary support.
