Near\u00adly 60 abbots ser\u00adved throug\u00adhout the 900-year histo\u00adry of Stift Rein. During this long peri\u00adod, seve\u00adral per\u00adso\u00adna\u00adli\u00adties not only shaped the monastic life of the mon\u00adks but also pro\u00admo\u00adted the eco\u00adno\u00admic and poli\u00adti\u00adcal signi\u00adfi\u00adcan\u00adce of the abbey. The lineage of buil\u00adders ran\u00adges from Abbot Ger\u00adlach, the foun\u00adding abbot in the ear\u00adly 12th cen\u00adtu\u00adry, to Abbot Lud\u00adwig von Plan\u00adken\u00adwarth and Abbot Pla\u00adci\u00addus Mal\u00adly, the gre\u00adat Baro\u00adque buil\u00adder of the 18th cen\u00adtu\u00adry. At the begin\u00adning of the 15th cen\u00adtu\u00adry, Abbot Ange\u00adlus Man\u00adse was secre\u00adta\u00adry and court cha\u00adp\u00adlain to Duke Ernest the Iron and, as such, an important poli\u00adti\u00adcal advi\u00adsor to this Habs\u00adburg, who was the father of Emper\u00ador Fre\u00adde\u00adrick III and grand\u00adfa\u00adther of Emper\u00ador Maxi\u00admi\u00adli\u00adan. In the 19th cen\u00adtu\u00adry, Abbot Lud\u00adwig Gro\u00adphi\u00adus was a clo\u00adse asso\u00adcia\u00adte and con\u00adfi\u00addant of Arch\u00addu\u00adke Johann and also the first rec\u00adtor of the Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty. This spe\u00adcial tour also intro\u00addu\u00adces other nota\u00adble Cis\u00adter\u00adci\u00adan figu\u00adres from Rein.
