It was desi\u00adgned and gifted to Rein Abbey by the theo\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adan, reli\u00adgious edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon tea\u00adcher, and for\u00admer priest and monk Rapha\u00adel Berg\u00admann.  <\/p><p data-start=\"83\" data-end=\"545\">The artist depicts the cen\u00adtral sce\u00adne of the Chris\u00adti\u00adan Pas\u00adsi\u00adon: Against a vio\u00adlet back\u00adground, Jesus is laid in the lap of his mother Mary after the Depo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon from the Cross. The figu\u00adres appear shadowy, with the bright figu\u00adre of Jesus stan\u00adding out par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly. Mary is depic\u00adted in a blue cloak; red color accents sym\u00adbo\u00adli\u00adcal\u00adly allude to her suf\u00adfe\u00adring heart. On the ground kne\u00adels the grie\u00adving Mary Mag\u00adda\u00adle\u00adne, ren\u00adde\u00adred in gold-och\u00adre hues.   <\/p><p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"845\">The work is based on the pain\u00adting \u201cDepo\u00adsi\u00adti\u00adon and Lamen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon of Christ\u201d (1785) by the Baro\u00adque pain\u00adter Krem\u00adser Schmidt. This deli\u00adbe\u00adra\u00adte sty\u00adli\u00adstic refe\u00adrence con\u00adnects to the tra\u00addi\u00adti\u00adon of the Rein High Altar, who\u00adse pain\u00adting \u201cAdo\u00adra\u00adti\u00adon of the She\u00adp\u00adherds\u201d also ori\u00adgi\u00adna\u00adtes from this work\u00adshop. <\/p><p data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"1044\">In terms of con\u00adtent, the Len\u00adten veil estab\u00adlishes a con\u00adnec\u00adtion to the altar\u00adpie\u00adce: It shows Jesus at the end of his earth\u00adly life in his mother\u2019s lap \u2013 in con\u00adtrast to his depic\u00adtion as a child at the begin\u00adning of his life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f8d3926 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"f8d3926\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\"
