The monas\u00adtery gar\u00adden has been revi\u00adta\u00adli\u00adzed sin\u00adce autumn 2023, and will be open to the public again from June 2025. A spe\u00adcial com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adon of baro\u00adque struc\u00adtu\u00adre and natu\u00adral plan\u00adting has been crea\u00adted on around 7,000 squa\u00adre meters. The old his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adcal out\u00adlines have been expo\u00adsed true to the ori\u00adgi\u00adnal, and the baro\u00adque struc\u00adtures, the net\u00adwork of paths, the foun\u00adtain sys\u00adtem and the nymphae\u00adum have been careful\u00adly res\u00adto\u00adred.
Howe\u00adver, the opu\u00adlent flo\u00adral sple\u00adndor of the Baro\u00adque is sought in vain here. This is becau\u00adse the plan\u00adting fol\u00adlows an inno\u00adva\u00adti\u00adve approach. Ins\u00adtead of rely\u00ading on clas\u00adsic orna\u00admen\u00adtal gar\u00addens, wild\u00adflower mea\u00addows with nati\u00adve spe\u00adci\u00ades such as pop\u00adpy and corn\u00adflowers, dai\u00adsies, dyer\u2019s cha\u00admo\u00admi\u00adle and pur\u00adple loo\u00adsestri\u00adfe grow here. Three are\u00adas \u2014 rich mea\u00addow, lean mea\u00addow and annu\u00adal flowe\u00adring are\u00adas \u2014 ensu\u00adre varie\u00adty and chan\u00adge throug\u00adhout the year.
The Bl\u00fc\u00adhen & Sum\u00admen asso\u00adcia\u00adti\u00adon has imple\u00admen\u00adted the plan\u00adting and also takes care of the gar\u00adden. The com\u00adplex is com\u00adple\u00admen\u00adted by fruit trees, a herb gar\u00adden, peren\u00adni\u00adal beds, a sand\u00ada\u00adri\u00adum as a bree\u00adding ground for wild bees and lots of roses. All plant spe\u00adci\u00ades are deli\u00adbera\u00adte\u00adly cho\u00adsen \u2014 all can also be found in the Bible.
The result is uni\u00adque in Aus\u00adtria \u2014 the first eco\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal-bio\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal baro\u00adque gar\u00adden. A spe\u00adcial place that pre\u00adser\u00adves the his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adcal struc\u00adtu\u00adre but brings natu\u00adre and cul\u00adtu\u00adre into harm\u00ado\u00adny with each other.
Of cour\u00adse, the gar\u00adden is far from finis\u00adhed. The struc\u00adtures have been crea\u00adted and the seeds have been sown. Now it is up to natu\u00adre to take effect. And the first signs of life are alre\u00ada\u00addy retur\u00adning: a fami\u00adly of hares has sett\u00adled, toads are colo\u00adni\u00adzing the gar\u00adden and the\u00adre is alre\u00ada\u00addy a lot of buz\u00adzing and hum\u00adming on the mea\u00addow squa\u00adres.
The gar\u00adden is free\u00adly acces\u00adsi\u00adble to visi\u00adtors every Sun\u00adday from June 15 bet\u00adween 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., at which time the ope\u00adra\u00adting asso\u00adcia\u00adti\u00adon Bl\u00fc\u00adhen & Sum\u00admen will also be on site. Spe\u00adcial tours \u201cThe monas\u00adtery gar\u00adden and its signi\u00adfi\u00adcan\u00adce\u201d will take place on July 12, August 2 and 23.
